Today the Unified Government of Wyandotte County and Kansas City, KS Public Works Department (UG) announced the immediate complete closure of the Kansas Avenue Bridge effective immediately beginning today, July 15, 2022 at 3 pm.
Through a weeklong inspection with HNTB Inspectors, inspection recommendations are to close the Kansas Avenue Bridge from River Park Drive on the Kansas City, Kansas side to American Royal Drive on the Kansas City, Missouri side immediately until further notice.
The HNTB inspection report will be complete and verified within the next few weeks.
The Unified Government Public Works Department is working diligently to ensure complete detour routes are available and marked due to this closure.
