CONCORDIA 2022 HOUSING STUDY REPORT & MAP PACKAGE
Collection of qualitative and quantitative information began in January 2022, and the draft report was presented to the City Commission and the CloudCorp Board of Directors during the regular Commission meeting on August 3, 2022. This housing study and market analysis provides the data necessary to support actions and funding assistance applications to address housing needs in Concordia. We appreciate all those who participated in this study by completing the public survey and/or participating in stakeholder workshops.
Housing is one of three key pillars to economic development. Quality education and healthcare complete this triad. Conversations with local realtors, contractors, and business owners within our community lead us to believe a lack of quality, affordable housing was preventing growth of the community. CloudCorp and City staff participated in conference calls with the Kansas Department of Commerce and Kansas Housing Resource Commission and remained engaged throughout the 2021 Statewide Housing Needs Assessment, which provided findings by region. (View the results here: https://kshousingcorp.org/kansas-statewide-housing-needs-assessment-2021/.) Additionally, the Community Resources Committee of CloudCorp was activated to help address housing needs locally and will translate recommendations from this housing study into action plans. Both public and private investment will be necessary to meet current housing needs within the community.
