UG Black History Committee to Host Celebration & Scholarship Banquet
Following a two-year hiatus due to COVID, this event will focus on preserving our black history while providing scholarships to local students.
The Unified Government (UG) Black History Committee will be hosting the 31st Annual Black History Celebration and Scholarship Banquet at Memorial Hall on Saturday, February 18. Starting at 5:30PM, the event will be an opportunity for community networking, food and drinks as well as an engaging panel on Preserving Our History.
Donations and proceeds from this event are donated through scholarships to students attending local post-secondary institutions such as the Kansas City, Kansas Community College and Donnelly College.
In addition to presenting scholarship awards, the Committee will honor and present awards to a community leader and local business.
